Patsy Overton – MIA

April 26, 2015 By Patsy Overton

Has it really been over two years since I, Patsy Overton, wrote my last blog post?  I can’t believe it.  Where has the time gone?  The good news is that I have been so busy I haven’t had time to blog.  The bad news is that I’ve lost touch with my clients as a result.  It’s time to fix that.

When I think about what has transpired over the past two years while I’ve been MIA and working diligently as an Atlanta color consultant, there are really two events that stand out.  I’m going to fill you in here, then we can move forward, ok?

In July of 2014 we sold our house of 23 years and moved to a condo in Cumming.   Here is the timetable of events:

  1. End of June – Purchased a condo.
  2. First two weeks of July – Worked diligently to prepare our house for the market.  (Since I’m a home stager, I took it as a personal challenge to do everything right the first time.)
  3. July 14th – The listing went live.
  4. July 17th – We had TWO FULL-PRICED OFFERS.
  5. July 19th – Went under contract.
  6. July 31st – Closed on our new condo.
  7. August 2nd – John (our only child) and his wife, Mallory, moved to Boston.  🙁
  8. August 3rd – I broke my foot!
  9. August 6th – Moving day.
  10. August 13th – I had surgery to reset the bone in my foot.

missing-in-action_Patsy-Overton-2missing-in-action_Patsy-Overton_bootWhat a mess.  How do you move with a broken foot?  Very carefully.  I found that as long as I walked flat-footed, my foot didn’t hurt; so I kept hobbling around throughout the move, trying to unpack and get things situated.  However, all that came to a screeching halt once I had surgery.  I was in a splint initially for two weeks, then a hard cast for four weeks, then a boot.  Here is a sample of the type “fashion statement” I made while in my boot.

Okay, so maybe I’m not the first person in the universe to break my foot, but you must admit the timing was unreal with the move pending.  Not fun.

So here we are a year later enjoying life in Cumming.  Nothing much that’s noteworthy has happened since the broken foot and move, so consider yourself caught up.  Did you even miss me?  Don’t answer that.
